As part of the FRESH Festival, SALTA invites you to an evening of STALE dance. Sometimes we don’t have any new ideas. Sometimes we are tired. Sometimes we want to stay with the stale, to follow something through its process of decay. Things can surprise you: an exhausted idea can become new in your hands. We invite you to an evening of leftover dance; dances that are in a process of decay; dances that are uninterested in the forward march.
Let us not be afraid of: repetition, staying with it; facing / forcing patterns; memory and trauma; getting enthralled, obsessive, and/or compulsive; ritual; meditation; mantra; training; life practice; the desire / pleasure / terror of the eternal return; making bread pudding from old bread.
